Flamengo lost to Avaí 2-1 and ended its participation in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. The match, valid for the second phase of the competition, took place at the Zezinho Magalhães stadium, in Jaú, at 19:30 pm this Thursday (12). Felipe Lima scored early in the match, but Flamengo suffered the comeback and said goodbye to the Copinha.

 

The game

Flamengo started the match in perfect form. On the first run down, Rodriguinho played Daniel Rogério a pass on the right. The midfielder crossed to the far post for Felipe Lima, who headed the ball into the net: 1-0 Flamengo.

The early goal didn't slow the pace of the game. Both teams kept attacking and engaged in a highly intense match. In the 25th minute, Avaí created a threat, but João Vitor made a great save to keep Mengão ahead.

In the 30th minute, Rodriguinho received the ball on the wing, faced the marking, dribbled and entered the area; after a low cross, the ball was cut out before Ryan Luka could finish. 

In the last play of the first half, Avaí scored the equalizer after a corner kick: 1-1.

The opponent was the first to threaten in the second half. After a good save by João Vitor, the Santa Catarina team hit the post. In the 15th minute, Avaí turned the score around in Jaú: 1-2.

Flamengo went in search of the equalizer. Pedrinho crossed from the right, Wallace Yan came in like a dart, headed the ball firmly, and the ball grazed the post. The boys pressed, but were stopped by the wall of defenders clogging the box.

In the 48th minute, after a cross from Felipe Brian from midfield, Dudu headed the ball against the post. The ball was still in play, but was cleared by the opposing defense. The Ninho Boys fought until the end, but Avaí's second goal gave the final score to the match.
