After beating Cuiabá 3-0 in the debut of the Brasileirão Sub-17, the Garotos do Ninho went to Luso Brasileiro, this Thursday (13), to face Fluminense in the second round of the tournament and left there with a 0-0 draw. The match, held at 16:15 pm, featured a proactive Flamengo, but they were unable to find the net.
With the result, Mais Querido adds its fourth point in the national competition in two matches.
The game
Mengão nearly opened the scoring with the match's first attacking move. Felipe Teresa broke free down the right and crossed into the box, where Felipe Lima finished dangerously. The opposing defense cleared the ball—which had been headed in. Germano then awarded a free kick into the box, and the Tricolor defense blocked another dangerous shot.
The Mais Querido maintained offensive intensity, but they didn't frequently score goals. In the final play of the first half, the Garotos launched a beautiful counterattack but couldn't finish it off. The two teams took the scoreless draw into the locker room.
Flamengo started the second half with the same impetus as the first and created a lot of chances.
After a low cross, Felipe Lima was blocked. The ball fell to Luis Aucélio, who took a shot from long range. The shot rocketed past the post. Felipe Teresa fought through the opposing defense and was brought down just inside the box. A dangerous free kick for the Mais Querido! Germano's shot went wide. In the closing stages of the match, Luan Andrey received the ball in the box, controlled it, and fired a powerful shot over the bar.
Despite the good chances created by the Ninho Boys, the score remained at zero.
Next appointment
