A strategic initiative for both institutions. This is how the partnership between Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and GPI Teaching System, which will be announced this Friday (18), at 17:30 pm, in a press conference at the George Helal Training Center, Ninho do Urubu. The event will be attended by the club's president, Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, the club's vice-president of Marketing, Daniel Orlean, the executive director of Youth Football, Carlos Noval, the CEO of the GPI Group, Jorge Neto, and the pedagogical director of GPI, Bruno Reis.

Joint actions for education
The partnership involves, in addition to scholarships, lectures with educational consultants addressing cross-cutting themes relevant to the training of student-athletes, according to a calendar defined in conjunction with the base Coordination.
The Ninho Boys will have access to all of the GPI Learning System's educational solutions to support their learning, including apps, online tutoring, and the GPI Digital Platform. Beginning in 2018, the GPI Group will provide a technical and pedagogical team to manage a GPI School unit within the Flamengo Training Center, with elementary school and high school classes.

"The comprehensive development of youth athletes, combining the pillars of education, health, and sports, brings benefits on the field and far beyond the pitch. The impacts are sporting, social, and even economic—for the club, the athlete, and their families. A more capable, healthy, and happy young person not only performs better on the field but is better able to manage their career and future. We also know that the professional football pipeline is large, but the pipeline for sports and potential careers in sports doesn't have to be so restrictive. Those who achieve success on the field will increase their future prospects; those who don't get the best opportunities as athletes will be better prepared to opt for a professional career—in fields related to sports, why not?—or even to fight for scholarships at universities in Brazil and abroad," said Daniel Orlean, Flamengo's Vice President of Marketing, who concluded by thanking the new sponsor.

"Flamengo positions itself as a development club, one that thinks of the athlete holistically, so that it can not only capture the best potential but also develop them to their full potential. It's not just Marketing that believes in this. We work to make it happen, but this is a club project, not a single department. I can only thank GPI, which believed in this project and will be essential in making it happen," he concluded.

In return, the GPI logo will be printed on the socks and sleeves of the training, match and travel shirts of the youth teams from U-15 to U-20, starting in 2018, in addition to publications on Flamengo's social networks and email marketing campaigns, which are already taking place this year.

"The partnership between GPI and Flamengo is a major step forward for Rio de Janeiro's strongest education system, on the path to providing quality education to young athletes in an interactive, up-to-date, and contextualized manner. Our goal is to always be connected to sports and to brands that are benchmarks for quality, like Flamengo. We are convinced that education is a pillar of the club in the development of the citizens who are here," celebrated Jorge Neto, CEO of the GPI Group.
