Flamengo finished second in the 22nd edition of the Timóteo Cup, held in Minas Gerais, which featured 19 teams divided into four groups. Flamengo reached the final against Ubaense, where they tied 1-1 in regulation time but lost on penalties.

Despite not winning the trophy, the U-14 team finished the Copa Timóteo undefeated. In the first round, they won three games: 3-1 against Acesita, 10-0 against Campinho, and 5-0 against Aert. In the semifinals, they eliminated the strong Cruzeiro on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
