After winning away from home in the debut, Flamengo was defeated 4-1 by Vasco da Gama, in the second round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. The match was played on Monday night (23), at the Luso Brasileiro Stadium, on Ilha do Governador.

Flamengo started by pressuring their opponent in their own half and had more possession in the early stages of the game, but didn't create any dangerous chances. Vasco hit the post in the 10th minute with a long-range shot and opened the scoring in the 25th minute through Zuccarello. In the 27th minute, defender Da Mata was sent off after committing a foul.

With one player less, Flamengo struggled to balance the game, but Vasco ended up scoring the second goal in the 40th minute, from a free kick by Gustavo Guimarães that deflected off the wall, taking away Leo Nannetti's chance to save it. Before the end of the first half, the Flamengo goalkeeper saved a penalty taken by Zuccarelli.

In the 9th minute of the second half, the opponent scored again, this time through Andrey. Following that, Flamengo wasted two good chances to reduce the deficit, with Pablo and Diego Guimarães. The referee sent off Lócio, from Vasco, in the 25th minute. Four minutes later, Josmar made a good play and shot dangerously. Flamengo's first goal came in the 36th minute, with a shot from Alan Santos from outside the area.

Flamengo had defender Daniel Carvalho sent off in the 42nd minute after receiving his second yellow card. Vasco scored their fourth goal in stoppage time through Zuccarelli.

Next Friday (27), at 15 pm, Rubro-Negro will face Vitória-BA for the third round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. The match will be held at Estádio José Bastos Padilha, in Gávea.
