Needing to win by three goals to qualify, Flamengo were beaten 2-1 by Botafogo and are out of the Carioca Sub-20 final. Defender Iago scored the red-black goal. The match was played this Sunday (9), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium.

Flamengo sought to attack from the start of the match, while their opponents tried to close ranks with a five-man defensive line and counter-attack quickly. Flamengo's first dangerous chance came in the 15th minute. Ryan Roberto received the ball from Guilherme on the left and, with a flick of his boot, forced the goalkeeper to parry it out for a corner.

Flamengo continued to dominate their opponent, who concentrated in their own half and made offensive actions difficult. At 23 minutes, Daniel Sales made a good play down the right wing and crossed low, Camargo almost managed to finish from inside the six-yard box.

However, the first attack after the break came from Botafogo, with a header that the Flamengo defense blocked in the 11th minute. Alan Santos had a good chance in the 14th minute, heading in a cross from Gusttavo on the right. Despite having more presence in attack, Flamengo struggled to break through the opponent's defensive system. In turn, Botafogo tried to counter-attack quickly, but without creating much danger.

At 35 minutes, Alan Santos made a good play and passed to Pedro Leão, who shot hard, but the Botafogo defender blocked the shot. The game continued without any major dangerous plays until the final whistle.
