Flamengo is defeated by Fortaleza and ends its participation in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship
The match was heading to a penalty shootout, but the red-black team ended up conceding a goal in the last minute of stoppage time.

In a single game of the quarterfinals of the Brasileirão Sub-20, Flamengo was defeated by Fortaleza by 1 to 0, on the afternoon of this Thursday (29), in Gávea. With the result, the Garotos do Ninho ended their participation in the championship.
The game
The match began with Fortaleza posing a threat to Lucas Furtado's goal, but the Ninho Boys quickly calmed the game and began exchanging passes in the attacking half. With the majority of possession, the red-and-black team prowled the opposing goal but struggled to create chances.
In the 25th minute, Flamengo had the first significant chance to open the scoring. Adriel received the ball at the edge of the box, set it up with his left foot, and fired a powerful shot. The ball hit the crossbar. In the closing stages, Wallace Yan ran down the left and crossed into the box. Guilherme cut in behind the defense and headed the ball over the bar. The first half ended goalless.
In the second half, the red-and-black team continued exchanging passes on the attacking half, but were unable to create any clear-cut scoring chances. In the 24th minute, Lucas Furtado made a fine save, saving the red-and-black team. Four minutes later, the Mengão goalkeeper shone again with another great save.
Fortaleza had the better of the match and wasted several chances to take the lead. In the last minute of stoppage time, Fortaleza scored the winning goal through Kauê Canela: 1-0. The result eliminated Flamengo from the competition.

The Garotos do Ninho return to the field next Sunday (1) to face Nova Iguaçu, at 14:45 pm, in Gávea, for the 11th round of the Under-20 Guanabara Cup.
