Flamengo and Vasco duel for the Carioca title in Moça Bonita

The first game of the decision will be this Saturday (12), at 10 am

It's decision time for the Under-20 Nest Boys. Facing Vasco, Flamengo will be looking for another Carioca Championship title to crown the good start to the year. Champion of the Guanabara Cup, the Most Beloved takes to the field this Saturday (12), at 10 am, at the Moça Bonita stadium, in Bangu.


Campaign in Carioca
In the Guanabara Cup, the Mais Querido had a strong showing, winning six of the seven group stage matches. In the semifinals, the Rubro-Negro defeated América 8-0 and qualified for the final, beating Botafogo 1-0, with a goal scored by Yuri.

The Rio Cup, however, wasn't kind to Flamengo. In eight matches, they only won two, drew five, and lost one. These results ultimately left the "Garotos do Ninho" out of the semifinals.

State in numbers
Flamengo's top scorer in the competition is Lucas Silva, who has scored six goals so far. Next, Vitor Gabriel has four, followed by Luiz Henrique and Yuri, with three, and Theo, Michael, and Pepê, with two each. Henrique, Vitor Ricardo, Marx Santos, Wendel, Breno, Luiz Felipe, and Bernardo have all scored once.

In total, Mengo earned 29 points in 15 games, winning eight, drawing five, and losing two. They scored 19 goals and conceded ten in two rounds of the State Championship.

Retrospect
In the current edition of the competition, the teams faced each other in the fourth round of the Guanabara Cup. Playing in Gávea, Flamengo lost 2-1, the team's only defeat in the first phase of the state championship.

Flamengo will have two confirmed absences for the match against Vasco. With an ankle ligament injury, forward Lucas Silva will be unable to defend the red-and-black colors. Also absent from the squad was goalkeeper Yago Darub, loaned to professional football for the match against Chapecoense.

Vasco reaches the Carioca final without having won a single round. In the Guanabara Cup, the team stopped in the semifinals, drawing 1-1 with Botafogo and being eliminated. In the Rio Cup, their opponent in the final faced Fluminense in the fight for the trophy, but lost 5-3.

In the Carioca semifinal, Vasco faced the Tricolor again and won. Playing at Laranjeiras, they won 3-1 and secured a spot in the final.

Tickets
There will be no tickets for the match, as the gates of the Moça Bonita stadium will be closed to both teams.
