While Flamengo's professional team arrived in Gávea to begin its 2011 activities, the Rubro-Negro's youth team, which didn't have much rest during the break, is already traveling to its first competition of the year: the São Paulo Junior Cup. The competition begins this Tuesday (04.12) for coach Paulo Henrique's team, which faces Mogi Mirim, at 21 pm, in São José dos Campos.

The core of Flamengo's squad in the competition is a mix of players who competed in the last Brazilian Under-20 Championship and standouts from the team that won the undefeated U-17 Rio de Janeiro championship in 2010. Among them are midfielder and captain Lorran, the speedy Romarinho, forward Thomas, and midfielder Matheus, son of former player Bebeto, as well as Rafinha, who trained with the seniors under Vanderlei Luxemburgo.

The Flamengo squad travels to São José dos Campos this Monday morning (December 03.12rd) and, on the same day, will train at the venue for their opening match.
