Flamengo draws with Corinthians in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship

Rubro-Negro turns the tables, suffers a draw at the end, but remains in the qualifying zone; the result eliminates the opponent

On the evening of last Wednesday (24.06), Flamengo's under-20 team drew 2-2 with Corinthians in the Brazilian Championship of the category, in Volta Redonda. With the result, Rubro-Negro remained within the classification zone, in second place in group B, with five points; Corinthians was eliminated.

Corinthians took the lead and opened the scoring in the first half with an own goal from Leo Duarte. Flamengo equalized in the first half with Douglas. In the second half, the comeback came: this time, it was a black and white player who played against the team's own goal. Rafael Augusto attempted to cut out a cross and ended up deflecting the ball into his own net. In the final minutes, Corinthians equalized with a goal from Gustavo Tocantins.

The next match for Zé Ricardo's men will be in the U-20 Rio Cup, this Saturday (27.06), against Bangu, at 11 am, in Moça Bonita. The boys will only return to the field for the Brazilian Championship on July 8, at 15 pm, against Grêmio, in Rio Grande do Sul.
