In a match played this Saturday morning (04.02) at Laranjão Stadium, in Nova Iguaçu, Flamengo drew 1-1 (Lucas Silva) with the team from Baixada Fluminense. The result takes away the 100% campaign of the Garotos do Ninho in the State Championship, as they had defeated Boavista and Macaé in the first two rounds. On the other hand, it maintains the team's unbeaten record in the competition, and also the leadership of Group A of the Guanabara Cup. In the next round, Flamengo will play its first classic of the year, against Botafogo, on Sunday (12.02) at 17 pm, at Engenhão.

The intense heat and the tall, soft grass at Laranjão Stadium made the match very slow. Even so, Flamengo maintained its usual routine of taking the lead. In the 12th minute, Loran pressured the opposing defense, stole the ball, and passed it to Lucas Silva, who cleverly slotted it into the left corner of goalkeeper Mateus's goal to open the scoring. The game remained lukewarm, and in the 28th minute, Nova Iguaçu equalized with striker Nathan. In the 38th minute, left-back Michael passed to Jean Lucas, who unleashed a dangerous shot from the edge of the box. In the 47th minute, in a quick counterattack, João Pedro almost scored the second, but the ball sailed over Mateus's goal.

Despite the difficulties, I think we adapted well and played a good match, with ample possession. We created good chances, but we couldn't score the winning goal, and that's why the result was a bit bittersweet. But we're doing well in the competition, and we'll focus this week on preparing for the derby against Botafogo, which will be very important for our team," said Lucas Silva.
