Flamengo drew 1-1 with Fortaleza, on Wednesday afternoon (8), at Estádio José Bastos Padilha, for the fifth round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. The red-black team took the lead with a goal from Josmar, at 22 minutes of the game, and had chances to extend it. However, the opponent equalized and gave the final score to the match.

From the start of the game, Flamengo sought to dominate their opponent and take the initiative in attack. However, the game progressed without many clear-cut scoring opportunities. Then, in the 22nd minute, Daniel Sales received a great pass from João Victor, crossed the ball, and Josmar finished into the net from the edge of the six-yard box. Shortly after, in the 26th minute, Sayago received the ball at the edge of the penalty area and unleashed a good shot to the left of the goalkeeper.

In another good chance for Flamengo, at 31 minutes, Diego Reyes took a free kick to the right corner, the goalkeeper saved it, Ryan Roberto couldn't get a shot off, and the defense cleared it for a corner. Fortaleza responded with a shot from outside the area, which Leo Nannetti deflected for a corner. From the corner, Fortaleza equalized the match at 37 minutes with a shot from Emmanuel at the edge of the area.

Flamengo launched an attack at the end of the first half, with Ryan Roberto on the left wing in the 42nd minute, and continued to press Fortaleza's build-up play, but ended up suffering a dangerous counter-attack. Pinna, number 9 for the Ceará team, shot dangerously wide to the left shortly before the end of the first half.

The first dangerous attack after halftime came from Flamengo. Ryan Roberto received the ball on the left and shot. The defense was tight and blocked it. At the 3-minute mark, the Flamengo team stole the ball in the attacking half and Kaio Nobrega took a powerful shot from outside the box. The goalkeeper parried the shot, and Josmar almost capitalized on the rebound.

Next, Flamengo had another good play down the left. Ryan Roberto passed to Reyes, who shot wide to the left of the goalkeeper. The Flamengo team showed no lack of effort, trying at all costs to speed up the plays. At 38 minutes, Daniel Sales shot over the goal. At 49 minutes, Jhefinho shot from outside the area and the goalkeeper parried it away. A minute later, Rafinha took a free kick from the right and the defense cleared it. Shortly after, the referee ended the match.

Flamengo will return to the field next Wednesday, the 15th, at 15 pm, to face Grêmio, away from home, in Eldorado do Sul, in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, at the Airton Ferreira da Silva Stadium.
