In the second leg of the round of 20 of the U-1 Brazil Cup, Flamengo drew 1-XNUMX with Goiás at the Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, ending their participation in the national competition. Defender Iago scored the red-and-black goal from the penalty spot in second-half stoppage time.

It is worth remembering that the Garotos do Ninho lost the first leg, in Serrinha, by 4 to 2, and needed to win by three goals to qualify for the next phase.

The game
Needing at least two goals to force penalties, the Goiás Boys started the match by taking the initiative and attacking. When they lost possession, the red-and-black team pushed up the defense to force mistakes from Goiás. In the 18th minute, after a cross from the right, Shola struck first time, and the Goiás defense cleared it off the line.

With the greater momentum of the game, Flamengo continued to attack. In the 25th minute, Felipe Teresa took a shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper palmed it away for a corner. In the final minutes of the first half, Flamengo's number 9 again arrived well on the right flank, made a great individual play, and struck a powerful left-footed shot. The goalkeeper managed to palm it away, saving Goiás. The teams went into halftime without a change in the score.

The Red-Blacks returned for the second half, exchanging passes in the attacking half, trying to create space in the Goiás defense, which was well positioned at the back. The Esmeraldino, in turn, began to have more possession of the ball from the 15th minute onwards and opened the scoring. Halerrandrio took advantage of the Red-Blacks' defensive lapse and scored: 1-0.

In the final stretch of the match, Flamengo's Bill and Goiás' Guilherme Elias were shown red cards for foul play on the left flank. The Flamengo striker had just come on for Zé Welinton. In stoppage time, Lorran was brought down in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Captain Iago stepped up to take the kick, slotted it into the goalkeeper's left corner, and tied the match: 1-1.

The equalizer was of little use, as the red-and-black team had lost the first leg 4-2 in Serrinha. As a result, the Garotos do Ninho were eliminated from the competition.
