With an eye on the grand final of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship on the 7th against Palmeiras in Volta Redonda, Flamengo, with an alternative lineup, faced Pérolas Negras on Wednesday afternoon in the Rio-OPG Cup and drew 1-1. The match was held at the Workers' Stadium in the city of Resende. João Marcos scored the red-and-black goal 15 minutes into the second half.

The return match of the competition (valid for the second phase of the competition) will take place on September 11th, at 14:45 pm, in Gávea.
