The U-20 Ninho Boys return to the field this Wednesday (1/08), at 18:45 pm, to face Internacional, at Raulino de Oliveira, in Volta Redonda, for the 5th and final round of the first phase of the Brazilian Championship.

Mais Querido is in third place with six points, and Inter leads Group D with seven. A simple draw in tomorrow's match will qualify both teams for the next stage of the national championship, as Figueirense, second with seven points, has already played all four games in this stage.

Before traveling to Volta Redonda, the Garotos do Ninho trained this Tuesday morning in Gávea. Coach Marcio Torres began the session by leading a ball possession drill in a reduced-space environment. The players then performed specific set-piece and defensive movement exercises. After the training session, defender Rafael Santos emphasized the team's focus on qualifying for the next stage of the Brasileirão U-20.

"The preparation has been very good since the beginning of the championship. We know how important this championship is for all of us, and we're going after the title. Our team is very focused even knowing that a draw would qualify us. We're going after the result. In the last round, we really played the game, and we'll try to do the same against Internacional."

Coach Marcio Torres named the following players for the match against Internacional:

The Mais Querido started the Brasileirão Sub-20 with a great comeback victory over Atlético-PR, away from home, by 3 to 1. Next, they hosted Santos, at Raulino de Oliveira, and despite a good first half, they ended up losing by 2 to 0. With the classification in check, the Garotos do Ninho visited Figueirense and with a gala performance, they thrashed the home team by 3 to 0. The result put Fla back in the fight for one of the two spots in the next phase. 

Internacional's first result in the competition was a 3-3 draw with Figueirense at home. Next, Internacional visited Atlético-PR and won 1-0. Finally, playing at home, they beat Santos 4-3.

The championship is played in four phases. In the first phase, 20 clubs form four groups of five teams each, from which the top two teams per group qualify. In the second phase, the clubs form two groups of four teams each, with two teams per group qualifying for the semifinals and then the final. It's worth noting that in the first phase, matches are single-leg matches; from the second phase onward, teams play home-and-away until the final.
