Flamengo was defeated by Atlético-MG 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon (10), at Estádio José Bastos Padilha, in Gávea, in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil Sub-17. With this result, added to the 1-0 victory for Minas Gerais in the first leg, at Arena MRV, Flamengo ended its participation in the competition.

 After a balanced first half, Atlético-MG built a lead in the second half with three goals. Flamengo reacted in the final minutes and reduced the deficit with goals from Guilherme Queiroz and Pedro Henrique, in the 41st and 43rd minutes respectively, but there wasn't enough time to overturn the aggregate score.

It is worth noting that goalkeeper Gabriel Werneck, defender Daniel Carvalho and midfielder João Couto, three important players from the Flamengo U-17 squad, are in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, for the U-20 Libertadores. With the elimination, coach Daniel Franklin's team turns its attention to the rest of the season. The next match will be on Saturday (14), at 13 pm, against Maricá, away from home, at the João Saldanha Stadium, for the Carioca of the category.
