Everything is ready for the red-black debut in the 2022 edition of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. Already in Barueri, the host city of Group 29, since last night, the Garotos do Ninho held the last preparatory training session for the debut in the Copinha on the afternoon of this Tuesday (04), at the Jardim Maria Helena field. The beginning of the journey towards the fifth São Paulo Cup championship will be on the night of this Wednesday (05), when Mais Querido faces Forte (ES), at 21:45 pm, at Arena Barueri. The game will be broadcast live on SporTV.

"We brought a talented but very young group to the Copinha, composed primarily of athletes in their first and second years in the category. Our preparation was very positive and well-executed, and we arrived here with the goal of imposing our style of football in every game, seeking goals at every opportunity, which is part of the Rubro-Negro DNA. This is a championship with very specific characteristics, but we know it very well. It's important to grow with each game in the competition and gain more and more confidence. We're going after that, and we want to make a very strong debut," said coach Fabio Matias, the current Copa São Paulo champion with Internacional.

Even with experience from playing for the professional team, right-back Wesley will make his debut in the São Paulo Cup. After training, he spoke exclusively to Flamengo's official website about his expectations for the competition.

"Our team is well prepared and focused on the competition. It's a young group, but we've been gaining a lot of chemistry since the beginning of our preparations, and also a lot of confidence after the friendlies we've played. We aim to go very far in this Copinha, and we're going to achieve that," said Wesley.

After debuting against the Espírito Santo team, Mengão returns to action on the 8th, facing Floresta (CE) at 19 p.m. The Ninho Boys conclude their group stage campaign on the 11th, facing Oeste at 21:45 p.m. All matches will be played at Arena Barueri and will be broadcast live on SporTV.
