Flamengo faces Cruzeiro in the third round of the RS Internacional U-20 Cup
Needing a win, the team has reinforcements from Vinícius Junior and Lincoln, who were with the Brazilian U-17 team in a tournament in the United States.
By Ian Sena* - inAfter having Monday's round off, Mais Querido's U-20 team is ready to face Cruzeiro in the Copa RS Internacional U-20. Valid for the third round of group B of the competition, the match takes place this Wednesday (07.12) at 18:30 pm at the PUC Stadium, with live broadcast on SporTV.
The final training session before the match against Raposa took place under a blazing sun at the Morada dos Quero-Queros Training Center in Alvorada. After losing 2-1 to Criciúma in their opening match on a completely flooded field, Flamengo needs a win to remain in control of their quest for a place in the quarterfinals.
"We know the quality of the Cruzeiro team, which is very technical, but we're also aware of our own strengths. Unfortunately, there was that situation with the waterlogged field in our debut, but this time it will be different and we'll be able to put our style of play into practice. The boys are very aware of what they have to do and really want this victory. We're going after the three points and qualification for the next stage, but always with great respect for our opponent," said coach Gilmar Popoca.
Reinforcements
Flamengo will be able to count on two key reinforcements for the rest of the Copa RS Internacional. After competing in the traditional Nike Friendlies Tournament with the Brazilian U-17 team in the United States, forwards Vinícius Junior and Lincoln arrived in Porto Alegre on Tuesday afternoon and will be available to Gilmar Popoca for the match against Cruzeiro.
