The first stage of the Copinha is behind us, and now it's time for the knockout stage. Flamengo finished second in group 15 of Brazil's most popular youth competition and will now face Figueirense. The match against the Santa Catarina team will be this Friday (11), at 15 pm, in Jaguariúna.
At the end of the first phase, coach Maurício Souza took stock of the Rubro-Negro's first three games in the 2019 São Paulo Junior Football Cup.
"The results were positive. Our first goal was to qualify, and we achieved it. We would have liked to have finished in first place, but it doesn't change much. We'll remain in the same venue and are very motivated for the second phase."
Defender and captain Patrick previewed the match against the Santa Catarina team and stated that Flamengo is ready to advance to the next stage.
"We're going to face Figueirense now. They're a qualified team, and we've already played against them in the Brazilian Championship. We're training, we've watched videos of them, and we're going to correct what we did wrong in the first phase. Now, what we expect from Flamengo is a good game and to seek the qualification this club deserves."
