Important commitment for the tenth round of the Brazilian Sub-20. Eighth place in the competition, Flamengo will face the leader Palmeiras, this Thursday (7), at 18 pm, at Estádio Luso Brasileiro, on Ilha do Governador, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Sportv will broadcast the match.
Flamengo will be looking to bounce back after being defeated by Bahia away from home in the previous round. A victory over their São Paulo rivals is important to maintain their position in the qualifying zone, as the top eight teams advance to the round of 16. Flamengo has 14 points, tied with Botafogo, and surpasses their rival in the number of goals scored.
Further up the table in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship are Santos and Bahia, in fourth and fifth place respectively, with 17 points, followed by Red Bull Bragantino, Corinthians and América-MG, with 15. Santos and América also did not play in this round. The São Paulo team will face the runner-up Vasco da Gama, away from home, at São Januário; while the Minas Gerais team will visit Avaí-SC, in Florianópolis.
The red-black team held this Wednesday (6) the final training session for the duel against Palmeiras, at CT George Helal. Coach Bruno Pivetti, who will not have left-back Ramires, suspended, took advantage of the activity to adjust the team and fine-tune the details for another important game in the under-20 category.
