Flamengo begins the fight for the unprecedented title of the U-17 Brazil Cup against Londrina, as announced by the CBF last Tuesday (28). The teams will face each other in home and away matches. The first game will be played in Paraná, on October 3, a week later, on the 10th, the teams duel in Rio de Janeiro.

The national competition has been organized by the highest authority in Brazilian football since 2013. Runner-up in the first edition, when they were beaten by São Paulo in the final, and semi-finalists in 2014, Flamengo arrives at this year's Copa do Brasil on the back of two victories, the Adidas Generation Cup and the Evergrande Cup, international tournaments played in a knockout format, just like the Brazilian competition.

This year's Copa do Brasil will be played in five stages. A total of 32 participating teams will be divided into 16 matches in the first stage. If the visiting team wins by two or more goals, they are eliminated from the second leg. In the second stage, equivalent to the round of 16, XNUMX teams will be divided into eight matches. In the first two stages, the team with the highest ranking in the CBF Ranking will host the second leg.

From the third stage (quarterfinals) onward, home teams are determined by a draw, with eight clubs divided into four matches. In the semifinal stage, maintaining the same pre-defined bracket from the first stage, four teams compete for two spots in the fifth stage, the final.
