Flamengo U-20 faces another challenge in the Brasileirão U-20 this Wednesday. Mengão faces Santos in the 4th round of the competition, at 17 pm (Brasília time), at Vila Belmiro, with coverage on SporTV.

“We worked well throughout the week. We have a qualified team and we have all the conditions to come away with a good victory away from home,” commented midfielder Jean Carlos, after training this Tuesday (23), at the Portuguesa Santista stadium.

Currently in 12th place, Flamengo is looking to regain its winning ways in the Brasileirão. Against Santos, at their opponent's home ground, Flamengo will be aiming for three points to move closer to the qualifying zone.

And the latest clashes can serve as inspiration.

In the 20 Brazilian Under-2023 Championship semifinals, Mengão won both the first and second leg matches. Playing in Santo André, Mengão came from behind to win 2-1, with goals from Lorran and Pedrinho. In the second leg, they won 3-1, with goals from Petterson (2) and Werton.

This Wednesday (24), the team led by Mario Jorge is completely different. With a younger generation representing the category since the beginning of 2024, Flamengo's U-20 team will have some absences. Meeting the needs of professional football, which is part of the club's development process, four athletes traveled to Bolivia, where they will be available to Tite for the match against Bolívar, a local team, in the Libertadores. They are: Caio Barone, Iago, Wallace Yan and Weliton. Despite the absences, Mengão has a good part of the U-20 Libertadores champion squad, as well as reinforcements from the U-20B who are in the midst of the finals of the category's Copa Rio.

The match starts at 17 p.m. for Santos and Flamengo at Vila Belmiro, where admission is free! Mengão fans can enter the stadium through gate 19. Let's go, Flamengo!
