Flamengo will close the 13th round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship this Thursday (21), at 21:30 pm, at Estádio Luso Brasileiro, against Santos. A victory could put Rubro-Negro, currently in 11th place with 17 points, back in the qualifying zone, depending on other results. The task, however, will not be easy, as the São Paulo team is in third place with 23 points. Sportv will broadcast the match.
Energized by their 3-2 victory over Juventude-RS away from home in the previous round, the Flamengo youth team will be looking for another good result to consolidate a positive run of form. The three points are crucial to finishing among the top eight in the single-round tournament, which will qualify them for the round of 16.
Under-17 team coach Daniel Franklin will lead the under-20s for the second time in a row. Under heavy rain, the squad held the final training session to adjust the last details ahead of the duel with Santos. The activity took place this Wednesday (20), on field 10 of the George Helal CT.
Flamengo has played 12 matches in the Brazilian U-20 Championship so far, with 5 wins, 5 draws and two losses. They have scored 18 goals and conceded 21. Josmar is the team's top scorer, with 5 goals.
