Flamengo's youth team secured three very important points in the Brazilian Championship. With a goal from Daniel Sales, at 12 minutes of the second half, Flamengo won 1-0 against Athletico-PR this Tuesday (9), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea, for the 15th round of the competition, and returned to the qualifying zone for the quarterfinals. The victory marked the beginning of the work of coach Marcelo Salazar, who debuted for Rubro-Negro, alongside assistant Sandro Sargentim.

From the start, Flamengo sought to dominate the match. At five minutes, Sayago received the ball on the right and shot towards the goalkeeper's left corner, who parried it behind for a corner. Shortly after, Daniel Sales crossed and Josmar almost managed a header in a challenge with the defender. At 12 minutes, Da Mata intercepted a pass that would have left the Athletico striker in a good position to score. The opponent grew into the game and Gabriel Werneck made his first save at 15 minutes.

The first clear chance for Flamengo came in the 28th minute, when Josmar turned past the defender and shot firmly towards the right corner. The goalkeeper managed to send the ball out for a corner. Following that, another good opportunity arose, this time with Joshua inside the area, but the Athletico goalkeeper managed to smother the shot. The Paraná team came close with a free kick near the right post in the 31st minute. Ramires responded with a good play down the left and a low shot into the middle of the area. It was a close call.

After the break, the scenario remained similar to the first half. The teams showed great commitment in every duel for the ball. Then Flamengo scored in the 12th minute: Joshua passed to Ramires, who crossed from the left, perfectly for Daniel Sales' precise finish. Six minutes later, Pablo passed to Alan, whose shot was well saved by the goalkeeper.

Flamengo still had good chances to score a second goal on quick counter-attacks, mainly down the left flank with Rafinha and Amâncio. Defensively, the team remained well-organized, without any major scares until the end of the match.
