Flamengo was defeated 2-0 by Fluminense, away from home, in the second leg of the Carioca Championship U-17 semi-finals, played this Saturday at the Marcelo Vieira Stadium in Xerém. The result eliminated the red-and-black team from the competition.

Fluminense came close to scoring first, with a cross-shot from the right, well saved by Gabriel Werneck in the 12th minute. The response was immediate, with a chance for Isaac, which the opposing goalkeeper saved. The home team, in turn, didn't miss the opportunity and, in the 15th minute, opened the scoring with a header.

Shortly after the hydration break, Fluminense extended their lead in the 31st minute. For Flamengo, João Vitor Couto received a pass from Isaac, controlled the ball, but shot over the goal in the 44th minute. Then, in stoppage time, Werneck made a difficult save from a shot just outside the penalty area.

The second half began with many duels for the ball, fouls committed by both teams, and few clear chances. Even so, Fluminense could have scored another goal from a set piece in the 16th minute. Two minutes later, João Vitor Couto took a direct shot that went over the goal.

At 23 minutes, Lucca Tatsch was sent off after receiving his second yellow card. With one player less, Flamengo struggled to mount a comeback, but managed to contain their opponent. The situation remained unchanged, and there were no further significant attacks until the final whistle.
