Flamengo will compete for the title of the Rio Cup Under-16. The matches against Fluminense are scheduled for July 29th, at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea, and August 22nd, at the Marcelo Vieira Stadium, in Xerém. Flamengo qualified for the final with two victories over Bangu.

After advancing to the semifinals in second place in Group B, Flamengo faced Bangu, the first-place team in Group A. The team, coached by Diogo Calhau, won both matches. The score in the first leg, played at CFZ, was 4-1. In the second leg, they won 1-0 at the Moça Bonita Stadium.

Flamengo played nine matches in the Rio Cup Under-16 tournament. They had seven wins, one draw, and one loss, scoring 29 goals and conceding six. To reach the title match, Fluminense defeated Vasco da Gama in the semifinals.

Flamengo will have two matches before the Copa Rio Sub-16 final: the Brasil Soccer Cup in Macaé, from July 19th to 25th; and the Adidas Cup in Lima, the capital of Peru, from August 3rd to 8th.
