Flamengo traveled to Paraná to face Coritiba in their U-17 Copa do Brasil debut at Janguito Malucelli Stadium. In their first match of the competition, the Red-Blacks drew 2-2 with the hosts in heavy rain.

The first half started well and with plenty of action. Coritiba opened the scoring four minutes into the match, with full-back Léo heading in a corner kick. But the Mais Querido responded quickly: in the eighth minute, Rafael crossed from the left and Lucas finished, also with a header, to tie the score at 1-1. From another corner kick, Coxa retook the lead, with Thalisson Kelven heading home.

In the second half, Flamengo chased the lead and needed five minutes to equalize again. Curitiba native Léo handled the ball inside the box; Matheus Iacovelli converted the penalty kick for Flamengo.

The two teams will face each other again next Saturday (28.03), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in the Gávea social headquarters, at 14 pm. A victory by any score or a draw by 0-0 or 1-1 will classify Flamengo for the next phase. Want to help develop our future stars? Become a fan member.
