Flamengo debuts with a draw in the BH U-17 Cup
Rubro-Negro drew 2-2 with São Paulo in the first round of the competition
By John Pedro Ribeiro* - inFlamengo debuted last Sunday (10), at 11 am, in the Taça BH 2016, the biggest under-17 competition in Brazil. In a game valid for the first round of the competition, Mais Querido drew 2-2 with São Paulo at the Soares de Azevedo stadium, in Muriaé.
The match was marked by both teams' commitment and poise. São Paulo took the lead in the first half, but in the second half, São Paulo pressed on and turned the game around. Late in the match, São Paulo equalized with a free kick. Also in the first half, Flamengo had a penalty saved by the São Paulo goalkeeper.
Flamengo is in group F along with São Paulo, Porto Vitória (ES) and Nacional Muriaé (MG). With the end of the first round, Rubro-Negro is in second place with one point. The Most Beloved returns to the field on Tuesday night (12), against Nacional for the second round of the competition.
