Mengão got off to a great start in the Guanabara Under-20 Cup! Playing away from home this Tuesday (7), the Mais Querido thrashed Boavista 7-0 in a match played at CEFAN. The red-black goals in the match were scored by Evertton, Ryan Luka (2), Lorran and Caio Vinicius (2) and Pedrinho.

The game
With a compact defense and plenty of movement on the flanks, the Boys from the Nest started the first half at full steam. The first goal, by the way, was a stunning one from midfielder Evertton, with a beautiful shot from outside the box. After the timeout due to the intense heat, Flamengo maintained its intensity and scored its second goal, a penalty kick awarded by striker Ryan Luka. And it didn't stop there. In stoppage time, attacking midfielder Werton made a great run down the right and crossed for Ryan Luka to make it 3-0.

After the break, with a good score in their favor, Flamengo returned with three substitutions. Before the 10-minute mark, Peterson, on the left, made a great play, but Werton ended up shooting over the bar. In the 25th minute, another penalty was awarded to Flamengo. Lorran, with great skill, scored the fourth for the red-and-black team. After a strong start to the match, Caio Vinicius made his mark, finishing off a corner kick from the right.

In the 41st minute, Pedrinho made it 6-0 for Flamengo, following a cross from Felipe Brian. To seal the deal, Caio Vinicius once again provided the final score. Final: Mengão 7-0 Boavista.

The U-20 team now turns its attention to the Brazilian Championship, when it will have the classic against Fluminense, next Monday (13), at 15:30 pm, in Gávea.
