The Garotos do Ninho will take to the field for the biggest challenge of 2024 this Monday (4) in search of an unprecedented title, when they debut in the Conmebol Libertadores Sub-20 against Defensor-URU. The ball rolls for the match valid for group C at 18 pm (Brasília time) at the Domingo Burgueño stadium, in Maldonado, home of Mengão in Uruguay.
This Sunday (03), the Flamengo delegation carried out the last activity before the first game in Punta del Este, a neighboring city to where Rubro-Negro is based. Coach Mario Jorge made the final adjustments to the team and spoke about the anxiety of the debut and what to expect from this Monday's match:
"We tweaked today's schedule a bit. We fine-tuned everything: the runs, the movements. I think we were able to accomplish what was planned for today well, adjust the game plan for tomorrow. And now we can control our anxiety for the debut," said the coach.
The Ninho Boys are in Group C of the competition, along with their opponents this Monday, Aucas-EQU, and Sporting Cristal-PER, based in Maldonado. This is Mengão's third appearance in the competition (2011 and 2020), and they are seeking their first title. The match against Defensor-URU will be broadcast on SporTV and Bandsports on cable TV, and on Canal Goat on YouTube.
