Flamengo debuts in the RS U-20 Cup for the sixth title in 2018
The red-and-black team faces Cruzeiro and seeks another trophy to end the year victoriously.

The final challenge of the season is about to begin for the Under-20 Boys from the Nest. This Saturday (1), at 21 pm, Flamengo faces Cruzeiro at the PUC University stadium in the debut of the Copa RS.
Last week, the Under-20 team won the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament, securing their fifth title of 2018. The team, coached by Maurício de Souza, had an excellent season, also winning the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, the Guanabara Cup, the Rio de Janeiro State Championship, and the Dossena Trophy (Italy). Now, they want another one.
Flamengo will be without defender Matheus Dantas, midfielder and captain Hugo Moura, full-back Klebinho, and forward Lucas Silva, who have completed their time with the U-20 team.

The RS Cup
This will be the third edition of the competition, which features 20 South American clubs divided among three cities in Rio Grande do Sul. Among them, 13 teams are Brazilian, three are Argentinian, three are Uruguayan, and one is Mexican. The teams are separated into four groups of five.

The top two teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals, and the knockout rounds continue with semifinals and a final, scheduled for December 16th.

The Flamengo youth team has been drawn into a tough and difficult group. Their opponents, who will be played at the PUCRS venue in Porto Alegre, are Cruzeiro, Independiente (Argentina), Nacional (Uruguay), and São Paulo, three-time champions of the tournament.
