Flamengo debuts in the 47th edition of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup this Sunday (January 3.01) against Red Bull Brasil, at 19:30 pm. The youth team plays the first phase of the under-20 competition at the Nogueirão Stadium, in Vila Industrial, in Mogi das Cruzes. The Most Beloved is looking for the third championship after the victories of 1990 and 2011.

There are 112 clubs in 28 groups of four each, with the top two from each qualifying for the next stage. Coach Zé Ricardo's team is in group 24, along with Palmeira from Rio Grande do Norte, União Mogi from São Paulo, and Red Bull Brasil, also from São Paulo. If they advance, the team will face the team that qualifies from group 23, which includes Atibaia, Brasília, Goiânia, and Portuguesa.
