Flamengo debuts in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship
Mais Querido faces Vitória in the first round of group B

On Thursday night (04.06), the Brasileirão begins for Flamengo's under-20 soccer team. After winning the Guanabara Cup and competing for the top spot in the Rio Cup, the youth team debuts in the national championship against Vitória, at the Giulite Coutinho stadium, at 19:30 pm. The match will be broadcast by ESPN Brasil.
The Brazilian Under-20 Championship has a different format than the professional competition. The top 20 teams in the 2015 National Club Ranking compete. The championship is played in three phases: in the first, the 20 participants are divided into four groups of five players each. Two teams emerge from each group. In the second phase, two groups of four players are formed. The winner of each group then advances to the final, which determines the champion. In the first phase, Flamengo is in Group B, along with Vitória, Corinthians, Grêmio, and Coritiba.
