Flamengo wins 2-1 on aggregate, eliminates Atlético-MG and is in the semifinals of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship
The Minas Gerais team won the second leg 1-0 in the Luso-Brazilian Championship. Now, the Mais Querido awaits its opponent in the next round.

In the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship, Flamengo lost to Atlético-MG 1-0 on Thursday night (15), at the Luso-Brasileiro stadium. Even with the defeat, the Garotos do Ninho guaranteed qualification for the semifinals of the championship, as they had won the first leg 2-0, in Minas.
The game
The match began with the Ninho Boys looking to attack. Three minutes in, the Red-Blacks made their first dangerous move. Petterson crossed to Mateusão, who closed in on him with a sliding tackle. The ball went over the goal. In the 9th minute, Dudu took a shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper made a good save.
Atlético-MG opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. Isaac's cross-shot deflected off the defense and beat goalkeeper Dyogo Alves: 1-0. A few minutes later, the Minas Gerais team was down to ten men. Right-back Levi received a second yellow card and was sent off.
With an extra man, Flamengo pushed forward in search of an equalizer. In the 31st minute, Petterson passed to Mateusão, who burst into the box but fired over the bar. Flamengo then saw another good move. Petterson took a shot from the edge of the box, but the ball flew just wide of the left post.
In the second half, Atlético Mineiro continued to pressure Atlético, seeking an equalizer. In the 5th minute, Petterson burst into the box and fired a cross-shot. The ball went just wide of the left post. In the 22nd minute, Mateusão received the ball at the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful shot. The ball exploded off the post.
In the final stretch of the match, goalkeeper Dyogo Alves made a great save to prevent the Minas Gerais team's second goal, which would have sent the match to penalties. The "Garotos do Ninho" (The Boys from the Nest) fought back until the end, but were defeated. Despite the negative result, Mengão advanced to the next round and qualified for the semifinals.
