On Tuesday afternoon (19), at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea, Mengão beat Atlético-GO with authority by 4x0. With goals from Daniel Monteiro, João Vitor (2) and Victor Hugo, the Garotos do Ninho of the U-17 added 3 more points in the Brasileirão of the category, now totaling 27 points in the classification table.
The game
The match started without any major chances, with both teams studying each other closely and lacking significant opportunities in the first 15 minutes. Flamengo's first big chance came in the 16th minute from number 11 Guilherme Ivo, whose shot from the six-yard box was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
At 23, João Vitor made a good play and shot with his left foot, but the goalkeeper saved again. The Ninho Boys continued to attack and impose their influence on the game, but the opposing goalkeeper kept showing up.
But at 35, after a corner kick and the ball was rebounded into the area, Lucas Falcone headed the ball onto the crossbar and in the rebound, Daniel Monteiro scored his first goal with the Mengão shirt and opened the scoring of the match.
At 45, Mengão's second: in an individual play on the left, João Vitor received a pass from Lucas Falcone, cleared the ball and shot without any chance for the goalkeeper and Flamengo went into the break with the advantage on the scoreboard.
The second half began the same way the first ended: with a goal for Mengão. Six minutes in, João Vitor, following a cross from Rafael Henrique, scored his second of the match and the team's third, extending the red-and-black advantage.
The Ninho kids continued to attack, but their opponents created little, and in the 31st minute, Flamengo scored their fourth goal. Victor Hugo, who came on in the second half, received an assist from Rafael Henrique, his second of the match, and scored another for Flamengo, giving the game its final score.
