Flamengo thrashes Botafogo and maintains 100% success in the U-13 and U-14 Metropolitans
Ninho Boys win 4x2 and 7x1 respectively, and are already qualified for the quarterfinals in both categories
By Ian Sena - inIn the eighth round of the Guanabara Cup of the Under-14 Metropolitan Championship, Flamengo maintained its 100% record and sole leadership by thrashing Botafogo 7-1 (Ryan, Daniel, Negueba, Diegão, Quintino, Werton and Pedro) in a classic played on Thursday morning (15.06), in Gávea. With the result, the Garotos do Ninho are already mathematically qualified for the quarterfinals of the competition, and with a victory in the next round against Friburguense, also in Gávea, they will guarantee first place and home field advantage in the decisive stages of the first round of the championship.

In the U-13 Metropolitano, the Mais Querido also defeated Botafogo in a comeback. After trailing 2-0, the Rubro-Negro recovered and won the derby 4-2 (Jonatha, Meyson, França and Vitor Hugo). Just like in the U-14 competition, they maintained their 100% record after the eighth round of the Guanabara Cup, extending their lead at the top of the competition and securing a spot in the quarterfinals of the first round.
The two categories return to the field on Sunday, June 25.06th, when they host Friburguense, in Gávea.
