Qualifying with a thrashing. In their opening match of the U-17 Brazil Cup, Flamengo came from behind to defeat Porto Vitória-ES 5-1 on Tuesday. Victor Hugo, Enzo, Pedrinho, Luiz Guilherme, and João Vitor scored the red-and-black goals, all in the second half.

The opponent in the second phase of the competition has not yet been defined. 

The game

In a first half with few scoring opportunities, the best chance came early on, with Davi Waisman's attempt. The attacking midfielder shot straight at the goalkeeper, and Victor Hugo then sent a shot over the crossbar. The opposition took the lead late in the first half.

Aware of the need for a draw, which would take the decision to penalties, or to turn the game around, the Mengão kids came back very excited. 

The game's standout performer, Enzo, set up the equalizer for the red-and-blacks by setting up Amâncio on the left. The full-back delivered a low cross that was precisely met by Victor Hugo, making it 1-1. 

A minute later, Enzo turned the game around with a beautiful finish from outside the box.

At 30, in a good play worked by Jhefinho, Pedrinho, who had just come on, hit a bomb from the edge of the area and found the right corner of the goalkeeper: 3-1.

In the fourth, João Vitor found Luiz Guilherme well placed, who pushed it into the back of the net, at 33.

To complete the rout, João Vitor, who came on very well, scored his goal, after a shot from outside the area: 5-1. 

Next Saturday (15), the key returns to the Campeonato Carioca, when the red-black team will face Nova Iguaçu at 10:30 am, in Gávea.
