A huge victory for the Under-20 Boys of the Nest. In a delayed game for the sixth round of the Guanabara Cup, Flamengo thrashed Botafogo by a score of 6 to 1, at the Gávea stadium, on the morning of this Wednesday (24). The red-black goals were scored by Pedrinho (3), Werton, Diego and Rayan. With the result, the red-black team recovered in the competition and reached third place.

The game
Despite the early setback, when they conceded a goal, the red-and-black team returned after the first-half stoppage timeout eager to turn the score around. After so many attempts, Werton made a beautiful solo run down the right, passing two opponents, and then crossed low for Pedrinho to tap into the back of the net in the 44th minute, tying the score.

After the break, Mengão unleashed a flurry of goals. The comeback came in the ninth minute. In a well-worked play through the middle, Pedrinho played a through ball to Zé Welinton, who crossed low for Werton to make it 9-2.

The third came in the 15th minute, with a corner kick from Zé Welinton headed in by defender Diego. And it didn't stop there. Three minutes later, Pedrinho hit a beautiful shot to make it 4-1.

Mengão's rout continued with Rayan in the 20th minute of the second half. And to cap off the golden morning, another beautiful goal. Werton, once again on an individual run, this time on the left, found Ryan Luka in the box; the striker dribbled past the defender and shot. Pedrinho sealed the score on the rebound: 6-1.
