Flamengo's youth team showed strength in the semifinal of the State Championship this Saturday (October 02.10). Playing against Vasco, at São Januário Stadium, the boys from Gávea imposed their rhythm and thrashed their rival 5-1, securing a spot in the final of the competition, against Botafogo. The first leg of the semifinal between Flamengo and Vasco was played last weekend, at Gávea, and ended 0-0.

Flamengo's goals in the match were scored by Adrian (2), Digão, Rafinha, and Pedrinho. The State Championship final will be played over two games. The first will take place next weekend, likely on Saturday (October 09.10), in Caio Martins. The following Saturday (October 16.10), the grand final is expected to be played in Gávea.

And it wasn't just in the youth division that Flamengo triumphed this Saturday. The red-and-black youth team crushed São Cristóvão 5-0.
