The weather forecast was right in predicting rain - with the ball in the net - this Saturday (26), in Rio de Janeiro. Playing at the José Bastos Padilha stadium, in the Gávea social headquarters, Flamengo's U-17 football team beat Resende 5-0, in the fourth round of the Guanabara Cup in the category. Bill and Guilherme Gomes were the top scorers, scoring two goals each.

"Very happy with the two goals, we were able to put into practice what we trained during the week and the most important thing is the leadership," celebrated Bill, in an interview with FlaTV, which broadcast the match live. Subscribe to Mengão's channel!

The game

The Boys of the Nest were far superior from the start. In the 7th minute, in a good move down the right, Menegatti sent a cross to the far post that threatened the Resende box. The play was followed by two corner kicks, under pressure from the Gávea team, and on the second corner kick came the Olympic goal by striker Bill: 1-0 for Mengão. Shortly thereafter, in the 11th minute, the scorer of the red-and-black goal took the role of waiter to pass to Felipe Lima, who nearly extended the lead with a header. Bill was the star of the match and appeared once again with another venomous corner kick in the 15th minute. But it was in the 17th minute that the boys extended their lead with a beautiful move down the right: a chested shot by Douglas Telles, a cross by Lucyan, a header by Felipe Lima, and the score was 2-0. The third goal came with a shot from number 10 Guilherme; after exchanging passes with Felipe Lima, the boy took a shot and found the back of the net against Resende with a high, crossed shot from the left.

Still in the first half, the victory turned into a rout: in the 31st minute, the referee awarded a penalty, and Guilherme scored his second, the Mais Querido's fourth, with a shot into the right corner of goalkeeper Daniel's goal. With complete control of the match, before the referee's whistle signaled halftime, the Rubro-Negro still found space for a shot that hit the post and two clear scoring chances.

The second half began with another goal for Flamengo—and Bill. Just three minutes into the match, the number 11 received the ball on the left side of the penalty area, took a shot, and was also rewarded with a goalkeeper error to make it 5-0. The match slowed down as the rain continued to pour down the pitch at Gávea. In the final minutes, Flamengo had a player sent off, Lucyan, but the victory was already assured and the final tally was clear.
