Flamengo already knows the path it will take to win its second São Paulo Junior Football Cup title. To replicate the feat of the unforgettable 1990 generation, the red-and-black youth squad will face no easy task. Ranked as one of the best second-place teams in the qualifying round, coach Armênio Moura's team faces CFZ, from Brasília, in the first stage of the Copinha knockout stage. Then, on the road to the final, which will be played on January 25th, Flamengo could face Coritiba, Corinthians, and São Paulo, for example.

"Regardless of who we face, we have to go in giving our all and fighting for the title, which is our objective. Flamengo always goes in to win and this is no different," said defender and captain Christianno.

The São Paulo Football Federation is expected to release the schedule for the new stage this Monday. After 138 matches played over nine consecutive days, only 32 of the 92 teams that started the São Paulo Junior Football Cup remain in contention for the title of the country's most important youth soccer competition. From now on, if there is a draw in regulation time, the decision will be made on penalties. One team will be eliminated from each match.
