In the fifth round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, Flamengo lost to Athletico-PR 2-0 this Sunday (11), in Gávea.

The game
The match started evenly, with both teams closely studying each other. In the 7th minute, Athletico-PR opened the scoring after a throw-in into the box. Jajá controlled the ball inside the box and fired a cross-shot, leaving João Fernando with no chance: 1-0.

After the goal, Flamengo began to push forward more, exploiting the flanks. In the 24th minute, Lázaro received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a powerful shot, which the goalkeeper made a good save. Subsequently, on a counterattack for the Paraná team, Jajá received the ball unmarked on the edge of the penalty area and fired a shot. The ball went just wide of the post.

In the 33rd minute, Rômulo Cardoso extended Athletico-PR's lead to 2-0. In the 38th minute, the team from Paraná threatened again, forcing João Fernando to make a fine save. In the 40th minute, Yuri de Oliveira hit the post.

The "Mais Querido" returned for the second half attacking Athletico-PR. In the 4th minute, after a good play by Pablo, Yuri received the ball up front and shot. The goalkeeper made a good save. Needing to reduce the score, Flamengo exploited the flanks to try to reach the Paraná team's penalty area, which managed to close well. Despite their efforts, Flamengo was unable to break down the opponent's defense and left the field with the defeat.

Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Thursday (15) to face Sport, at 15 pm, in Gávea. The clash is valid for the sixth round of the Brazilian Under-20.
