On Thursday night (26), Flamengo was beaten by Atlético Mineiro, 2-1, at Estádio das Alterosas. The red-black goal was scored by Thiaguinho, still in the first half.

The game

Right from the start, before the tenth minute, Atlético Mineiro took the lead. With the score at a disadvantage, the Red-Blacks created two good chances through Carlos Daniel, but failed to convert. In the 25th minute, debutant Thiaguinho made a beautiful play, took a chance from outside the box, and nearly scored. The pressure continued, and in the 32nd minute, Ítalo crossed, and Rhyan headed over. The equalizer came in the 36th minute. Attacking down the right, the ball fell to Thiaguinho, who took it first time and scored a stunning goal: 1-1. The first half ended like that.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to dominate. In the eighth minute, Rhyan received the ball in the box and hit the post. After the 20th minute, coach Mario Jorge made four changes (also debutants Anderson Cuadrado and Gabriel Aires came on), but despite their efforts, Flamengo ended up conceding the second goal on a rebound from a penalty saved by João Fernando. In the red-and-black team's last chance of the match, Pablo crossed and Gabriel Aires headed wide.
