Flamengo loses to Botafogo and says goodbye to the U-15 Carioca Championship
The Ninho boys battled until the end, but were unable to achieve the result needed to advance to the finals.

On Friday afternoon (26), Flamengo and Botafogo faced each other in the second leg of the semi-finals of the Campeonato Carioca Sub-15, at CEFAT. Due to the goalless draw in the first leg, Mais Querido needed to win the match to advance to the finals of the competition.
Despite fighting until the end, Flamengo was defeated 2-0 and bowed out of the competition. The U-15 team will not return to the field in 2021.
The game
The match started evenly, with both teams lacking finishing in their early attacks. In the opening minutes, Flamengo pushed forward in search of the first goal, but couldn't find the final pass. In the 15th minute, Mengão had their first big chance: Bill took a free kick from midfield with great skill and the ball went very close to the post.
In the 27th minute, the best chance of the first half: Schlickmann took a corner from the right, the ball was headed in, and the goalkeeper tapped it in to save it. Lucas couldn't get the ball in from the rebound.
Early in the second half, Flamengo threatened again. After a cross from the right, David appeared inside the six-yard box to finish, forcing a fine point-blank save from the opposing goalkeeper.
In the 13th minute, Gustavo took a shot from distance, but the Botafogo goalkeeper made a comfortable save.in the sequence, Lorran made a beautiful play at the edge of the area and finished wide. The Boys from the Nest dictated the pace of the match, but after the break Botafogo opened the scoring with a rare shot from Fabiano, who hit it from outside the area: 1-0.
Flamengo didn't give up on the result, and in the 26th minute, Andrey received the ball inside the box, cut to the left, and shot across goal, but the opposing goalkeeper made a great save. The rebound was divided and skimmed the post.
In the final play of the match, Botafogo extended their lead with a penalty kick, sealing the victory. With the 2-0 defeat, Flamengo bows out of the competition.
