By Romulo Paranhos - inIn the second phase of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, Flamengo ended up losing to Bragantino 3-1 on Monday night (13), at the Nogueirão stadium. Fred scored the consolation goal for the Rubro-Negro. With the result, the Garotos do Ninho said goodbye to the competition. It is worth mentioning that the Mais Querido played in the Copinha with a team formed basically by athletes from the U-17. This is because the U-20 is competing in the first rounds of the Campeonato Carioca.

The game
The match began with both teams battling for possession. When Bragantino had possession, Flamengo pushed up the lines and pressed the São Paulo team into mistakes. Six minutes in, the red-and-black team created a threat for the first time. Pedro Leão unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box, but the goalkeeper made a good save in the center of the goal.
In the first good run, Bragantino opened the scoring in the 9th minute with Filipinho, who took advantage of the cross from the right and flicked it into the net: 1-0. At a disadvantage, the Garotos do Ninho managed to organize the plays better, but were lacking in the final pass.
Bragantino extended their lead with two consecutive goals. In the 27th minute, Marcelinho found himself one-on-one with Caio Barone and fired a cross-shot into the net for the second. A minute later, Raoni pounced on the rebound to score the third for the São Paulo team. The first half ended with a solid advantage for the opponent.
After the break, Flamengo tried to push forward more, but Bragantino's defense managed to neutralize the red-and-blacks' attacks. The São Paulo team, in turn, also tried to attack, but without posing any danger.
In the final minutes, the Boys from the Nest continued to push for at least a consolation goal, which came in stoppage time. Fred, who came on in the second half, unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box, and the ball went in: 3-1. With the defeat, Flamengo bowed out of the competition.
