In the first leg of the U-17 Copa do Brasil semifinal, Flamengo lost to Fluminense 6-1 on Friday afternoon (15), in Gávea. The Rubro-Negro's goal was scored by Arthur Augusto. It is worth mentioning that Fla went into the match without eight players, the majority due to Covid-19.
The game
The match started evenly, but Fluminense took the lead in the eleventh minute through João Neto. Soon after, the team from Laranjeiras doubled the lead through Matheus Martins: 2-0.
Fluminense continued to dominate the game and scored the third goal, a penalty kick through Jefté. Little by little, the Boys from the Nest began to loosen up and create some opportunities. In the 35th minute, the first significant chance for the red-and-blacks fell to Victor Hugo. The forward received the ball freely inside the box and shot across goal, which the goalkeeper made a good save.
In the 40th minute, Fluminense's team threatened again. Will received the ball on the right, made a good play, and fired a powerful shot. The ball flew just over the crossbar. Although the red-and-black team improved throughout the match, the first half ended with Fluminense ahead.
Early in the second half, Fluminense scored their fourth with an own goal by Arthur Augusto, making it 4-0. In the 20th minute, Flamengo pulled one back! After a beautiful header from Werton, Arthur Augusto made a good run down the right, dribbled past his marker inside the box, and fired a left-footed shot into the top corner of the goal: 4-1. In the 36th minute, the team from Laranjeiras scored their fifth goal through Matheus Martins. Fluminense also added a sixth through Lucas Felipe, sealing the match's final score.
