Flamengo loses to Vasco in the first leg of the Carioca Sub-15 quarterfinals

The team creates chances and dominates possession, but is outclassed away from home; the return match will be next Thursday, in Gávea

On Saturday afternoon (30), Flamengo's under-15 team went to Nova Iguaçu to face Vasco, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Carioca Championship in the category. The Garotos do Ninho were beaten 3-0, in a score that does not show how the match was - with wide possession of the ball by Rubro-Negro, who created good chances.

The game
Vasco opened the scoring early in the match, and Flamengo began to pressure their opponents in attack. With much more possession, Flamengo created several chances. In the 21st minute, Lorran had a good chance and even lobbed the ball into the net, but the linesman had already flagged for offside. Until halftime, the match remained largely a game of attack versus defense.

Mengão returned to the field with the same attacking momentum that ended the first half. Just four minutes in, after marking Vasco's ball out, Bill received the ball from Pedrinho and shot across goal, but the ball grazed the post. In the next play, a rebound from a shot from outside the box gave Vasco a 2-0 lead. A few minutes later, in the seventh minute, Igor Toledo scored again, Vasco's third.

Next appointment
Our Ninho Boys return to the field for the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Under-15 Carioca Championship next Thursday, at 9 am, in Gávea.
