Flamengo loses first game in the Under-17 Brazil Cup

Flamengo lost the first game of the third phase of the U-17 Brazil Cup, this Thursday (16.04) by 2 to 1. After facing Corinthians, the red-black team takes to the field on Saturday (18.04), at 11 am, in Gávea, against Boa Vista for the first round of the Carioca State Championship. The return match is hosted by Mais Querido and will be next Wednesday (22.04), in Volta Redonda.
Flamengo started the game with Gabriel; Klebinho, Bernardo, Thuler, and Rafael; Hugo, Théo, and Pepê; Lucas, Patrick, and Matheus Iacovelli. The match began with the "Mais Querido" (Flamengo's Favorite Team) trailing the home team with a goal in the third minute. In the 35th minute of the first half, Flamengo was awarded a penalty and had an extra man on the field, with the Corinthians defender being sent off. Matheus converted the penalty.
In the second half, the U-17 Flamengo side controlled the game but couldn't turn the game around. In the 36th minute, Bernardo attempted to clear a cross but scored an own goal. "We tried to maintain possession, capitalize on our numerical advantage, but a set piece ended up turning the ball over. There's more on Thursday, and we'll go all out," assured forward Patrick as he left the field.
