After reaching the final of the Copa do Brasil U-20 undefeated, the Garotos do Ninho finalized their preparations for the decisive duel against Atlético MG on Thursday afternoon (June 15.06) at their new home, Ilha do Urubu. In a training session that also served as the athletes' first experience of the stadium, coach Gilmar Popoca carried out only light movement and chatted extensively with the players.
"We've finally reached the moment we've longed for. All the work has been done, the team is more than ready, and today was an important day to talk to the entire group, which has a lot of quality, and once again to make these athletes aware of the importance of winning a title like the Copa do Brasil for all of us and for the club. Furthermore, it was a great opportunity to be here and see this beautiful stadium, which will be our new home from now on," said coach Gilmar Popoca.

With an undefeated record of 5 wins and 3 draws in the competition, Flamengo managed a good 1-1 draw in the first leg of the final, played last week at the Estádio Independência, in Belo Horizonte, and now counts on the support of the fans to win the first red-black title on Ilha do Urubu, and also guarantee qualification for the next Copa Libertadores da América Sub-20.

This is what we work for every day, what we give our lives for both in training and in games, and now the time has come to pursue our goal. We know we're up against a great opponent, that it will be a very difficult game, but anyone who plays for Flamengo needs to be accustomed to winning, and we will do everything to take this title to the trophy cabinet at Gávea," said captain Gabriel Batista.
