Flamengo was defeated 3-0 by Fluminense in the first leg of the final of the Campeonato Carioca U-20. The match was held at the Moça Bonita Stadium, in Bangu, on the afternoon of this Saturday (11.05). Effort and dedication on the part of the Flamengo players were not lacking, and, in the stands, the red-black fans turned out in much greater numbers than the tricolor.

Digão, right-back for Mais Querido, acknowledged that the team wasn't playing well, but he left the field confident that a comeback could happen: "Nothing went right today. It wasn't our day. Now, let's get ready for the next match. We'll try to be champions."

The second leg of the final will be held next Saturday (May 18.05), again at the Moça Bonita Stadium. To be crowned champion after 90 minutes, "Mais Querido" will need to win by at least four goals. If they win by three goals, the title will be decided by a penalty shootout.

"It's difficult, but not impossible. We've come out of difficult situations before, like last year when we won the Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament. We lost the first leg of the final to Botafogo, but we turned the result around in the second leg. We'll work hard and turn around today's result as well," said Fernando, Flamengo's captain.
